Teach You How to Better Maintain Safety Padlocks!

Safety padlocks are quite common and come in a wide variety of styles. Many are designed to be innovative and aesthetically pleasing, which makes people develop a sense of attachment to them. A safety padlock not only serves as a protective security device but also provides a certain decorative function. However, many people may not know how to properly maintain their safety padlocks. In fact, as long as you pay attention to the following maintenance practices, you can ensure the long-term normal use of your padlock.

  1. Keep the transmission parts of the lock body lubricated at all times.
This allows the lock to operate smoothly and extends its service life. Therefore, you should regularly check the condition of the lock, at least once every six months. Pay particular attention to whether the fastening screws have become loose. If they have, tighten them immediately.

  2. Maintain the lock cylinder every six months.
Even if no issues arise, maintenance is still necessary. Place lead powder or graphite powder into the lock cylinder slot and insert the key several times to make it easier to insert and remove the key. However, never use oil-based lubricants, as oil can cause the pins to stick and make the lock difficult to open.

  3. Follow the installation instructions carefully.
When installing the lock, read the manual thoroughly and install it according to the requirements. Pay special attention to the installation center distance, the applicable range, and the unlocking method.

  4. Keep the lock body clean.
Prevent foreign objects from entering the cylinder, which could cause the lock to jam or fail to open. If you still encounter difficulty after inserting the key, apply kerosene, gasoline, or anti-rust lubricant into the lock cylinder, then insert and rotate the key repeatedly to restore smooth operation.
