Correct Way to Open a Magnetic Valve Lock

At present, many households are equipped with radiators. Some radiators are installed with magnetic valve locks. If a common issue occurs, how should it be handled? What should be noted when installing a magnetic anti-theft valve lock? Below is a detailed explanation.

I. How to Open a Magnetic Valve Lock with a Radiator?

  1. Do not attempt to open a magnetic radiator valve lock casually. It generally requires a matching key, which is usually kept by professionals from the heating supply company.
If repairs are needed, you should contact the on-site service personnel—they will have the corresponding key.

  2. The key has a small red dot that should align with the dot on the valve. Before unlocking, press the key cap so that it pops up into the open position.
Then pull the key cap upward and use a wrench to turn the lever. You will notice the indicator rod on the key changes its reading:
for example, from 0 to 1, where 0 means closed and 1 means open.

  3. If you want to open a magnetic valve lock without a key, it must be done by a professional.
Some experienced technicians can locate and mark the internal magnetic points using a magnet, then listen for changes and open the lock with a magnet.
This method is not suitable for everyone and requires skill and experience.
If the lock must be opened, always contact the heating company staff; do not attempt to force it open yourself.

II. Installing a Magnetic Valve Lock

  1. Before installation, check whether there is any debris or obstruction at the valve connection area and clean it properly.

  2. Inspect the base bolts and nuts at all connection points to ensure they are level and tightened.

  3. Verify the valve model, size, and specifications to ensure compatibility with the valve before installation.

  4. When installing a universal valve lock, ensure the valve controller is properly embedded in the internal space as designed.

  5. During installation, do not casually remove the valve lock. The installation typically involves spring connectors, locks, and oil plates.
If a non-professional removes the lock improperly, it may affect the magnetic valve lock’s performance.
